POSITION - EDITOR
LOCATION - Maseru

BAM Media is inviting candidature from dynamic, creative and versatile candidates for the position of Editor in its newest publication of ACHIEVER MAGAZINE.
Major Responsibilities
Reporting to the publisher, the incumbent is responsible for the overall quality and content, establishes and maintains journalistic standards and contributes significantly to providing a dynamic, communicative vision for the editorial team.
Major Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the publisher in strategic planning to increase the quality of coverage
- Develop editorial content and calendar
- Assign and edit all editorial content
- Oversee content and coverage in all editorial submissions
- Recruit, supervise and maintain a talented, dependable editorial team
- Oversee layout, production and submission of content
- Lead and develop a culture of continuous improvement to enhance productivity whilst ensuring quality levels remain intact.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to work well with clients and co-workers in a team environment.
- Self-motivated and ability to excel with no supervision.
- Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of internet and data connectivity products and services.
- Good PC skills with proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Requirements
- 2-5 years’ experience as editor and writer on a general interest publication.
- A degree in communications or related field.
- Proficiency in copyediting and proofreading.
- Must have excellent editing and writing skills.
- Must have an understanding of print production.
- Familiarity with Adobe latest InDesign and Photoshop preferred.
- Experience with web publishing helpful, but not essential.

BAM Media is inviting a fierce and sales driven candidate for the position of ADVERTISING MANAGER to join the dynamic and forward-looking team of its newest targeted niche publication of ACHIEVER MAGAZINE.
Reporting to the publisher, the incumbent is responsible for the overall sales of advertising space of the publication.
Major Responsibilities
- Generate advertising revenue by developing and implementing advertising strategies and programs; managing staff
- Reach sales goals as set
- Develop customer base necessary to meet all sales forecasts and budgets.
- Maintain high level of product and vendor knowledge.
- Prospect for new business, preparing/presenting proposals and maintaining existing relationships.
- Serve as a point of contact for business customers issues
- Lead and develop a culture of continuous improvement to enhance productivity whilst ensuring sales levels improve.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to deal with customers, vendors and all channels of distribution to assess and analyse situations.

INTERNSHIPS
Students majoring in Marketing and/or Sales are invited to Achiever Magazine to partake in the activties of marketing the publication in Lesotho. The Interns shall be responsible for assisting the Achiever Account Promoter on all aspects of the magazine.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
- generate and qualify leads
- prepare sales action plans and strategies, and schedule sales activity
- develop and maintain sales and promotional materials
- plan and conduct direct marketing activities
- develop and make presentations of Achiever Magazine to current and potential clients
- develop sales proposals and present sales contracts
- maintain sales activity records and prepare sales reports
- respond to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically or in person
- ensure customer service satisfaction and good client relationships
- monitor and report on sales activities and follow up for management
- conduct market research and surveys
- participate in sales events
- monitor competitors, market conditions and product development
Education and Experience
- knowledge of relevant computer applications
- knowledge of principles and practices of sales
- knowledge of customer service principles and have excellent communication skills
- knowledge of basic business principles
- excellent knowledge of English (verbal and written)
- skilled in making presentations
- must have an obvious goal to achieve sales targets
