Make hay while the sun shines

TEXT: LISEBO KEKE

Ordinary life won’t give you happiness. In fact, it will give you a mirage of security, nothing new will ever happen, you’ll become negative and stressed, and will one day realize you’re miserable.

While at the same time, there will be so many people out there who dared to aim higher and to put in the work and time necessary to make their vision a reality. And if you’re living an average life, you may start blaming, making excuses, procrastinating, avoiding the thought of a better life, and so on. That’s the prison of being ordinary. It’s easier to forget about the fact that there’s more to life than the mundane lifestyle. Until you remember it again.

In an attempt to show all these and trying to motivate young people to step out of their comfort zone and start living their lives up to their potential best, an 18 year old girl from Mokhotlong, Mots’elisi Sekonyela has written a motivational book titled Make Hay While the Sun Shine, which was published earlier this year by Twenty-one C Virtue Publications.

Speaking to Achiever magazine, Sekonyela unveiled that she was steered by the fear of mediocre lifestyle to write this book. It came to her notice that young people do not aim high, they do not have potential to think out the box.

“This book mainly focuses on youth as they are the ones who have a long journey of life ahead, they have crucial decisions to make regarding their future, therefore this book is there to help them make life changing decisions,” said the author who started writing from primary school after she was introduced to literature.

She publicized that the reaction to the book is really unexpectedly good as people are showing implicit interest to it.

Explaining a good author, a former student of Soofia International School Butha-Buthe said a good author is merely someone who reads as much as they write and being a good author is a matter of loving what you do and giving your writing enough attention.

In conclusion of her interview, Sekonyela related as thus;

“Everything is possible so long as you are willing to work hard and give it your all, God is the father of all things so don’t forget to pray always.”
