MASERU- the Ministry of Development Planning held a three day workshop with different ministries which aimed at discussing the National Strategic Development Plan NSDP II.
Each ministry was given a general question as way of guiding it to strategize their plan as the ministry.
for their part, the ministry of Communications Science and Technology said it is high time they start using technology to create jobs.
“We hope to introduce a system that will allow us to make those payment systems at the services of everything that we do so that it becomes possible to use electronic money to pay for everything as well as basic things from spaza shops to large transactions in respective to where you are in the country,” added Minister Joang Molapo.
Lesotho’s first five year NSDP programme ended in 2017 and the second one is expected to be implemented in the coming financial year. NSDP II is based on the strategic priority sectors of agriculture, manufacturing, technology and innovation and tourism and creative industries which have been identified as key for job creation in the country.
